Border Clearance
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) provides border clearance services for Non-CANPASS general aviation type flights to the Brandon Municipal Airport.
After 9/11, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) stopped providing Canada Customers services to Brandon. In order to regain customs services, the City of Brandon has to purchase customs services on a "per aircraft" basis. Brandon Airport will then charge this cost of customs fees directly to the aircraft owner. This fee normally ranges between $500.00 - $1000.00 per aircraft, but could be greater. The aircraft owner will receive a bill for the exact amount within 60 days of the landing.
This service is provided, seven days a week, during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST (09:00 and 17:00 hrs). CBSA officers from the Boissevain office travel to the Brandon Municipal Airport, including statutory holidays, if required.
Holidays include
- New Year's Day
- Louis Riel Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- August Civic Holiday
- Labour Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
PLEASE NOTE:
The City of Brandon invoices the customer (aircraft) for all costs incurred by the CBSA.
The Brandon Municipal Airport does not incur costs associated with border clearances for all Non-CANPASS general aviation type flights.
